How To Unlock Chicago Sweeper RE4 Remake And Requirements

The Chicago Sweeper, formerly known as the Chicago Typewriter, remains one of the most powerful bonus weapons available in the Resident Evil 4 remake. Earning this iconic submachine gun requires completing a specific high-difficulty challenge within the main campaign. Unlocking it not only gives players a massive combat advantage but also opens the door to infinite ammunition.

Core Requirements to Unlock the Chicago Sweeper

To acquire the Chicago Sweeper, players must complete the main story on Professional difficulty with an A rank rating. Achieving an A rank on Professional mode requires finishing the entire campaign in under seven hours. Fortunately, players can attempt this challenge in New Game Plus, allowing them to carry over late-game equipment.

Strategies for Achieving an A Rank on Professional

Completing a campaign speedrun within seven hours can sound intimidating, but utilizing powerful weapons makes the task significantly easier. Using the Infinite Rocket Launcher or other bonus weapons like the Primal Knife is fully permitted for this challenge. Additionally, equipping Ashley with her armor set prevents her from taking damage or getting captured, saving crucial time during protect sections.

Claiming the Weapon in the Extra Content Shop

Once the requirement is met by finishing the game on Professional difficulty under seven hours, the weapon becomes available for purchase. Head to the main menu and navigate to the Extra Content Shop to buy the Chicago Sweeper for 2,000 Challenge Points. After acquiring it, the weapon will immediately appear inside the storage box at any typewriter save point during future playthroughs.

How to Unlock Infinite Ammo for the Chicago Sweeper

While the Chicago Sweeper starts with standard submachine gun ammunition, its true potential lies in its exclusive perk. To unlock unlimited ammo, players must either purchase all standard weapon upgrades from the merchant or use an Exclusive Upgrade Ticket. Trading 30 Spinels to the merchant for a ticket allows players to gain infinite firepower as early as Chapter 7.
